Ukrainian President Meets Ben Stiller and UNHCR Representative

The UNHCR Representative in Ukraine Karolina Lindholm Billing and Ben Stiller arrived at the President’s Office after visiting the occupied settlements in Kyiv. Today, they made a special visit to the ruined residential area in Irpin, where they spoke to people who have survived the occupation.

“It’s one thing to see this destruction on TV or on social networks. Another thing is to see it all with your own eyes. That’s a lot more shocking,” Ben Stiller said.

“What you saw in Irpin is definitely dreadful. But it is even worse to just imagine what is happening in the settlements that are still under temporary occupation in the east,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded.

The President and the UNHCR Ambassador discussed the needs of people who lost their home in Ukraine, while Ben Stiller visited Ukrainian refugees in Poland the day before.

In addition, Zelenskyy highlighted the people and children who have been forced to deported to Russia is a violation of the Ukrainians’ rights.

The two also discussed ways of further cooperation between the Ukrainian authorities and the UNHCR.
