Germany Reveals Full List of Military Aid to Ukraine

The German government declassified on June 21st a list of equipment and weapons already used against Russian forces, as well as a list of equipment that should arrive Ukraine soon, including heavy weapons such as the armored Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.

The complete list includes both lethal and non-lethal military assistance that Berlin has provided to Kiev from its own stockpile, as well as new or promised assistance from German industry in the context of a $2 billion increase in defence spending in 2022.

This long list of vehicles, weapons, ammunition and equipment was declared as “under preparation/implementation”. Citing operational security, the German government did not reveal further details or a timeline for the delivery of the following items.

Supplies continue to be imported into Ukraine from various European countries. Recently, 35 Slovenian M80A Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) arrived by train and are being prepared to reinforce Ukrainian troops fighting in the east. These vehicles are equipped with 20mm cannons and 9M14 Malyutka anti-tank guided missiles.

Increasingly, Western-supplied weapons are appearing in the fight against Russia. Systems such as the US-supplied M777 towed howitzer are playing a very important role for the Ukrainian forces battling Russian forces in the Donbas region.
