Federal Vaccine Mandate Policy Accused of Being Unconstitutional

As the Trudeau Government announced the same day that it would end vaccine passports for domestic and outbound flights and trains, and drop vaccination requirements for federal employees, the leader of the Canadian People’s Party and the former governor of Newfoundland decided to launch a judicial action against the allegedly unconstitutional vaccine policy.

In addition to seeking an order of judicial review, the plaintiffs also sued for the violation of various pandemic restrictions by the federal government under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, asking the court to find the mandatory vaccine policy unconstitutional.

Moreover, by only suspending the mandatory vaccine policy, Canada’s Constitution and rights are not truly respected and protected by the authorities.

The court hearing in the case will be held on September 19th, and the Supreme Court is expected to issue its decision by the end of this year. If the policy is overturned by the judges at that time, it will set an extremely important precedent in Canadian judicial history.
