Japan Cannot Accept North Korea’s Unprecedented Missile Launch Provocation

According to online news on May 5th, North Korea launched eight short-range ballistic missiles. The launch of missiles from three or more locations in a short period of time is “unprecedented” and has raised the high vigilance of the Japanese Government.

Absolutely intolerable, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno stated. Japan will strive to fundamentally strengthen its defense capabilities, including its ability to counter enemy attacks on missile bases and other targets.

The defense ministers of Japan, the United States and South Korea are also expected to meet in Singapore over the weekend to discuss missile response and other issues.
