Former MI6 chief predicts Putin will be forced to step down in 2023

According to Daily Mail on May 22nd, former MI6 chief Richard Dearlove predicted in a recent podcast that Putin might step down in 2023 and be sent to a sanatorium, which he described as the best way to allow a peaceful transition of power without coup. Dearlove believed that Nikolai Patrushev, secretary of the National Security Council, could succeed Putin as Russian president should such things happen.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Putin was filmed struggling with uncontrollable or jerky body movements several times in public. In addition, Putin was rumored to suffer from throat cancer, thyroid cancer as well as Parkinson’s Syndrome and must undergo a surgery, which made the stability of Russian regime a matter of universal concern.
