NHK reported March 27, Prime Minister Kishida reported on his visit to Ukraine at the plenary session of the House of Councilors. Regarding the document released by Communist China last month calling for dialogue and a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, “President Zelensky said that there are points that he can understand and opinions that he cannot agree on, and that the withdrawal of all Russian troops is not stipulated. If it is, I know that it is inappropriate.” On that basis, he said, “How to approach the negotiations that will determine the future of Ukraine is an issue that should be decided by the people of Ukraine. We are also exchanging views with Communist China regarding the situation in Ukraine, but we will continue to strongly urge them to respond responsibly.”
