Zelensky said his personal position, as well as Ukraine's, is that if the Russian leader participates, Ukraine will not participate, and Ukraine will observe the situation later.
Zelensky said earlier in the day that he had spoken by phone with Joko Widodo, and the two discussed preparations for the G20 summit, as well as the grain deal in the Black Sea.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, now in its ninth month, this aggressive war has killed thousands of civilians and displaced millions, and many towns and cities were destroyed. However, Moscow described the launch of a "special military operation" against Ukraine.
It is still unknown whether Putin will attend. Retno Marsudi, the foreign minister of host Indonesia, admitted that the disagreement among member states on the issue of Russia's aggression against Ukraine has indeed made preparations particularly difficult.
