What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples include names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers.

It is obtained in many ways: interviews, correspondence, telephone, email, via this website, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies and from third parties. We do not guarantee the links or policies of authorised third parties.

We may also use it for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, where you would reasonably expect such use. You may unsubscribe from our mailing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.

  • for the primary purpose for which it was obtained
  • for a secondary purpose directly related to the primary purpose
  • with your consent, or where required or authorised by law

Where reasonable and practicable, we collect your Personal Information only from you. In some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties, and we will take reasonable steps to make you aware of it.

Disclosure

Your Personal Information may be disclosed to third parties where you consent, and where required or authorised by law.

Security and retention

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. Most Personal Information is stored in client files, which are kept for a minimum of seven years.
