British media reported on December 30 that considering the recent CCP virus epidemic situation in Communist China and the lack of transparency in the CCP’s data, Prime Minister Sunak has decided to require passengers from China to obtain a negative CCP virus test certificate in advance before being allowed to enter the UK.
In addition, it is expected that up to 20% of passengers entering the country from China will be required to undergo screening upon arrival in the UK to help relevant units conduct genetic analysis and track virus strains.
In the UK, people who tested positive for the CCP virus and patients in medical institutions will also be asked whether they have a travel history to Communist China. If so, their samples will be prioritized and genetically sequenced.
Although many experts do not believe that it is necessary to implement epidemic prevention control on travelers entering from China at the border, Steve Brine, chairman of the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee, and Lord Bethell, Conservative MPs who were former health officials, recently called on the government to take anti-epidemic measures such as screening passengers entering from China.
At present, countries that have officially announced that they will implement strict epidemic prevention and control measures for passengers arriving from China include the United States, Israel, Spain, Italy, Japan, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and France.
