Seven Workers Frozen to Death in Xinjiang Due to CCP’s Zero-COVID Policy

Since the rollout of the Zero-COVID policy in Communist China, many innocent lives have fallen victim to the draconian measure. Here is yet another one, seven migrant workers were frozen to death in Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang. Altay Prefecture is located in Northwest China, which is known to have frigid winters.

While the Communist China government-run media painted this as a loss due to “extremely harsh weather”, people familiar with this matter revealed that this was indeed a “man-made disaster.” A family member of one of the victims said that his father’s construction site had been shut down for more than a month and that workers had been appealing to the officials to let them return home, but the local government denied their request. All construction work in Altay usually stops in mid to late October each year due to extreme cold weather.

This year, however, many migrant workers have been stranded or locked down in Xinjiang since the city was shut down. Since November 20, the local area of Altay has suffered from the strongest cold wave in the recent years, with extreme weather such as strong blizzards and steep temperature drops. Finally, on November 26, the construction company sent an emergency notice and agreed that the workers can leave Altay.
