US Indo-Pacific Commander Warns on CCP Largest Military Buildup Since WWII

June 24th, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command John Aquilino said during a conversation on Friday that Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing military growth “is the largest military buildup in history since World War II,” which led Pentagon to declare CCP as US’s “pacing” challenge, also raised urgency to protect Guam from a potential missile threat from Communist China.

Aquilino said, the undergoing Beijing’s largest military buildup encompasses all domains and all capabilities, whether it’s naval ships, fifth-generation aircraft, missile forces, cyber capability, air space capability or strategic nuclear capability.

This is not the first time Aquilino has warned the threat of the CCP’s increased military buildup to the world order. Last month in May, he testified to the US House Appropriations Committee that Communist China seeks to “become a global military power and acquire the ability to seize Taiwan, while developing conventional weapons that can reach the US Homeland.”
