Kitchen Knife Banned in Qinhuangdao Prior to CCP’s Beidaihe Conference

Qinhuangdao city recently conducted inspection of controlled knives, reported by a Chinese state media on June 27. Kitchen knives and scissors were only allowed within the food stall area. Urban management officers tied the knives and scissors to the booth with metal wire, restricting their use outside the booth.

This is not the first time the city has imposed a knife control. In 2018, prior to the CCP’s Beidaihe Conference, the Port Public Security Bureau in Qinhuangdao issued an announcement that the local police would conduct security inspection on controlled knives in shops along the streets within their jurisdiction. Knives, axes and sickles were chained in every diner, butcher, and small supermarket.
