Zelenskyy condemns Russian Cover-Up of Bucha Massacre

“Foreign media reported on April 4, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy visited the town of Bucha, where the massacre of civilians by the Russian troops took place, to learn more about the situation.

President Zelenskyy condemned Russia that what Russia did to cover up its war crimes was the same tactics used to cover up the crash of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17. Zelenskyy said that the Putin government has operated a false propaganda campaign about the massacre of Ukrainian civilians conducted by Russian army.

They used dozens of interviews and re-edited videos to make it appear that the people slaughtered by the Russian army were killed by others. This line of actions had been used by Russia in the past when it shot down a Malaysia Airlines flight in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine and placing the blame to Ukraine. Russia had also created various conspiracy theories, even falsely accused Ukraine of placing the bodies on the plane beforehand, and then directing itself to shoot down the plane.

On July 17, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a beech missile in Ukrainian airspace while flying from the Netherlands to Kuala Lumpur, killing all 298 people on board. After a four-year investigation, the joint air accident investigation team determined that the missile was launched by the 53rd Air Defense Missile Brigade of the Russian Army, but all aspects of Russia denied it.”
