U.S. Refuses to Attend G20 Meetings With Russia Present

“On April 6th, at a U.S. House hearing, U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen echoed President Biden’s motion to expel Russia from the G20 forum, stating that the U.S. will not attend G20 meetings with Russia in attendance.

According to Yellen, U.S. Treasury Department will close loopholes in sanctions to root out opportunities that had offered Russia benefits from the international financial system. Moreover, she warned the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that the U.S. would impose sanctions on Communist China should it invade Taiwan.

In late April, G20 finance administrators and central bank governors will meet in person and online in Washington during the intermission of the International Monetary Fund Organization and World Bank meetings.”
