Mr. Pompeo believes that the invasion of Ukraine necessitates clarifying American position on Taiwan’s sovereignty so that President Xi Jinping fully understood unambiguously US-Taiwan relationship. Since its very inception, CCP had sought to bring Taiwan under its control, and this ambition had grown stronger in recent years.
